Title: Rural Policy Brief. The Uninsured: An Analysis by Income and Geography (Brief No. 2013-6, June 2013)
Abstract: This policy brief examines how Affordable Care Act (ACA) implementation could affect uninsured populations. It identifies people potentially eligible for ACA coverage and compares them by residence (urban versus rural and by region) and income, focusing on people whose income is under the federal poverty line. The brief uses this information to determine who will be able to purchase insurance coverage through health insurance marketplaces with and without subsidies and who will become Medicaid eligible in states planning to expand their Medicaid coverage. The brief includes tables, figures, and references.
